Project Description

A SharePoint Solution with 2 Features to add jQuery to your site. Add jQuery to a single page as a web part, or add jQuery to the whole site! Ready for any WSS 3.0, SharePoint 2007, Foundation 2010, or SharePoint 2010 environment. Source included to tweak. Current jQuery version included (as of project creation, v1.7.1). Works if jQuery already loaded on a page or site, just in case.

Download the WSP and add the solution to SharePoint. Compatible with WSS 3.0, SharePoint 2007, Foundation 2010, and SharePoint 2010. Adds 2 features to your Site when deployed. One feature adds jQuery to all SharePoint pages via a Master Page delegate/placeholder. The other feature adds a jQuery web part to the web part Gallery. This web part can be added to any page. Add javascript code that uses jQuery in a web part below the SPJQuerify web part (ie. after in the DOM). You can also point the plugin to an alternate jQuery script file, since the version is constantly changing. The alternate script url is editable in either the web part properties (when deploying the SPJQuerify web part), or via a custom settings page in the site settings (when deploying SPJQuerify master page update). The alternate url for the script file can be either a relative url to the SharePoint site (not necessarily the root of the domain), or a static url.

Examples of alternate jQuery script urls are:
  • ~/library/jquery.min.js
  • /library/jquery.min.js

SPJQuerify uses jQuery, and is added to the SharePoint page only if not already present. The jQuery library version that ships with this WSP is 1.7.1.

Built in Visual Studio 2008 using WSPBuilder, so its forward compatible with current SharePoint versions.

A product by Ben Steinhauser, brought to you by B&R Business Solutions.
